Audio : Location shots

Reasons for choice of locations shots by DiaKG

Music choice

Nervous Piano by DiaKG

We decided that we want to use this track in our opening two minutes due to the slow and eery feel that the instruments used would give to the scene, which is set in the stalkers office/work space. It represents the stalkers calm and organised character well as it is slow paced and only uses one instrument - the piano. This soundtrack, coupled with the camera angles and shots that we would like to use will help to spook the audience as they witness the stalkers neat collection of articles and polaroids. This is typical of the thriller genre which involves the audience mulling over and thinking more about what there watching.

Film schedule

Actors and decisions

Role: Lindsey Cohen
Actor: Katharine Kerr

For the role of Lindsey Cohen we need the character to look like a stereotypical girly girl and for this we need a girl with long hair who was slim and attractive. Long hair is often associated with vanity which we felt was fitting for the character of the “girl girl”, also whilst decicding who to pick for this role we found that Katharine Kerr often wears a lot of make up which is often seen as another feature of “popular girls”. We felt that Katharine would be a very good candidate because she fitted the profile well and also she had made it apparent that she was found of acting.

Role: Jennifer Stellar
Actor: Nia So

The role of Jennifer Stellar is a very strange and different role, we need someone who would stand out but not just in terms of her looks but also her attitude. The whole point of Jennifer as a character was to have someone strange and out of the ordinary in terms of “Aryan” we required Jennifers character to be foreign and so we need someone who looks foreign which would also reflect the foreign name of our film being “Aryan” which is German. We chose Sonia Kamili because she has a very foreign look about her, she is of Arab descent so she has pale skin and dark hair which we felt made her look very foreign and slightly suspicious, also her facial features are quite dark which we felt again would reinforce this idea of her being foreign and strange.

Costume designs and sketches

Jennifer Stellar
For Jennifer's outfit, we want to go for quite a simple classic look which reflects her character as being a innocent and friendly. To achieve this we would like to use something like a stripped top paired with simple dark navy shorts or trousers like in the examples (above). We have decided to not have Jenifer wearing a skirt as her personality is more tom boy than girly girl and in order to represent this strongly we have decided that jeans or shorts would be best to reflect this message/representation.

Lindsey Cohen
For Lindsey's outfit we want to create a more girly look and have her wearing a skirt and floral top. This reflects her girly personality, but has also been used to create a clear difference between the two girls through their choice of clothing and at the same time incorporating Claude Lei-Strauss' theory of binary opposites. Many existing movies, across many genres have also used costume in order to reflect the characters personality. One example of this would be mean girls, which also used skirts and light pink or pastel colours to reflect a stereotypical girly personality. This is shown in the picture above (left).
