Costume designs and sketches

Jennifer Stellar
For Jennifer's outfit, we want to go for quite a simple classic look which reflects her character as being a innocent and friendly. To achieve this we would like to use something like a stripped top paired with simple dark navy shorts or trousers like in the examples (above). We have decided to not have Jenifer wearing a skirt as her personality is more tom boy than girly girl and in order to represent this strongly we have decided that jeans or shorts would be best to reflect this message/representation.

Lindsey Cohen
For Lindsey's outfit we want to create a more girly look and have her wearing a skirt and floral top. This reflects her girly personality, but has also been used to create a clear difference between the two girls through their choice of clothing and at the same time incorporating Claude Lei-Strauss' theory of binary opposites. Many existing movies, across many genres have also used costume in order to reflect the characters personality. One example of this would be mean girls, which also used skirts and light pink or pastel colours to reflect a stereotypical girly personality. This is shown in the picture above (left).
